Mo Brings Plenty helps C&I make history with its first-ever cover-reveal party celebrated in the heart of Cowtown, Texas.

Patrons of the Western industry rallied together to help C&I commemorate its first-ever cover-reveal party on July 15 and 16. And who better to kick off this new tradition than Native actor, activist, and cowboy Mo Brings Plenty?

The Lakota actor known for Dances With Wolves and Hell on Wheels has made his way to the forefront of the Taylor Sheridan universe through his acting work on Yellowstone and more recently through working as a Native American consultant on 1923. His acting, stunt work, and expertise have made him a shining star in the Western world and Hollywood alike.

After heading to Kansas for an unforgettable photoshoot with photographer Eugene Tapahe (Diné/Navajo), Mo Brings Plenty sat down with writer Kate Nelson (Alaska Native Tlingit) to share a compelling life story full of strife, perseverance, self-discovery, and joy.

His inspiring positivity beams from the printed page and all the more so in person. When C&I teamed up with Western brands Double D Ranch and Cavender’s to put on a weekend of celebration in the heart of Cowtown, the turnout was befitting the charisma of the guest of honor.

After showing Mo Brings Plenty a good time on the TR9 ranch in Weatherford, Texas, and giving him the lowdown on the breeding and training programs of the acclaimed Teton Ridge Performance Horses, the star was taken to the first night of festivities.

Double D Ranch — co-owned by sisters Audrey Franz, Cheryl McMullen, and Hedy Carter — rolled out the red carpet on Saturday night to welcome a group of VIP guests to the first evening of C&I’s cover-reveal party. The event brought guests to the Fort Worth Stockyards to enjoy a free goody bag stocked with Double D merchandise and copy of the August/September issue of the magazine signed by Mo Brings Plenty. They then got a chance to shake hands and snap a photo with the cover star, who seemed to enjoy the party every bit as much as the fans.

Joining local legends such as members of the Arizona Ridge Riders rodeo team, Mo's nephew and 1923 star Cole Brings Plenty celebrated his uncle at the event alongside 1883 star Jeremy Gauna and photographer Eugene Tapahe. The stars hobnobbed with fans over cans of Lone River Ranch Water and hors d’oeuvres provided by The Brand Room.

But the party didn’t stop there. Guests of honor Mo Brings Plenty, Cole Brings Plenty, and Jeremy Gauna made their way back to the Fort Worth Stockyards to meet some fans, eat some barbecue, and shop at Cavender’s.

Proving they really know how to make a guy feel welcome, Cavender’s provided a photo opportunity center as well as an autograph station where diehard fans and unsuspecting shoppers alike could snap a photo with the cover star and receive a signed copy of the August/September issue of Cowboys & Indians along with a C&I baseball cap.

Mo Brings Plenty beamed with pride and graciousness as local upon local made their way to Cavender’s to shake his hand, get a photo, and have their hats signed. He even got in on the shopping fun himself. “That’s a really good jacket, man,” he called to a shopper who had been eyeing the same Cavender’s jacket that he posed in for the cover of the magazine. After helping the shopper try it on, the two struck up a conversation on their preferences in Western jackets.

Even under the weight of the vast praises piled onto the cover star that weekend, Mo Brings Plenty retained his humility and serenity that he has been known for since childhood. When asked if his cheeks hurt after all the photos he had taken with fans that weekend, he said, “Oh, no, I smile a lot, so I’m used to it.”
