Blast From The Past: Yellowstone’s Chief Joseph Ranch

The drama-filled show Yellowstone might be fictional, but the ranch backdrop is as real as it gets.

The scenic backdrop for Dutton Ranch in the hit series Yellowstone is the Bitterroot River Valley in Western Montana. With sunset views of Trapper Peak, the real-life Chief Joseph Ranch is a family-owned guest and working ranch that now plays host to some of our favorite television characters.

Recently, Chief Joseph Ranch shared a throwback picture to its Instagram page. And being Yellowstone fanatics, we couldn’t stop scrolling through more authentic images of the ranch through the years. Here, find some of our favorite historic images of the Yellowstone mainstay.
